Thousands of Caregiving Jobs Available at Online Job Fair on Wednesday
Home-care workers needed to assist Riverside County’s growing aging population
RIVERSIDE COUNTY, Calif.— Riverside County is holding a free online hiring event Wednesday (June 1) for caregivers to help seniors and those with disabilities live safely at home.
Interested candidates can register for Wednesday’s event by clicking here. Prospective caregivers can also apply by visiting RiversideIHSS.org.
Online access will be open between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Job seekers can chat with recruiters to help them apply for positions through online self-registration.
Caregivers are needed in Riverside County as one in every five of the county’s 2.5 million residents is age 60 or older – a population projected to double in coming decades.
The need for in-home caregivers is especially great in the Coachella Valley, Anza, Blythe, Idyllwild and Hemet. IHSS caregivers currently earn $15.50 an hour, have flexible schedules, and receive benefits such as paid sick leave.
Applicants must pass a background check, drug screening and be able to perform caregiver responsibilities including household chores, meal preparation and bathing.
Caregivers will have access to training and, if requested, will receive essential protective gear to protect against the spread of COVID-19.
