Valley-Wide Employment Expo Celebrates 30 Years And Draws Nearly 1,800 Job Seekers

INDIO, CA – The Coachella Valley’s largest job expo welcomed 83 employers and 1,794 job seekers at the 30th Annual Valley-Wide Employment Expo Wednesday September 17. Held at Fantasy Springs Resort Special Events Center, the Employment Expo creates positive momentum in the local economy by connecting job seekers with employers who are hiring.

“This expo is an incredible success of our county departments and state agency partners, bringing together employers and applicants to grow the economy,” said Riverside County Fourth District Supervisor V. Manuel Perez. “That’s what this Employment Expo is about, connecting our people to opportunity and creating a stronger future for the Coachella Valley.”

Launched three decades ago, the Expo has become one of the region’s most impactful workforce events, connecting thousands of residents to career opportunities each year. Employers represented a wide range of industries, including health care, education, construction, hospitality, renewable energy, and government. Many companies conducted on-the-spot interviews and offered follow-up appointments, giving job seekers immediate opportunities to enter the workforce.

The annual Expo is a collaboration between the County of Riverside’s Workforce Development Division, the Department of Public Social Services, the State of California Employment Development Department and the State of California Department of Rehabilitation who share a commitment to growing the region’s economy and prosperity. Over the past 30 years, the event has opened its doors for tens of thousands of residents while helping businesses fill critical positions.

In addition to connecting with employers, attendees had access to free career services such as résumé reviews, interview preparation, and information on job training programs. Workforce specialists also connected participants with supportive resources, from childcare to veteran services, ensuring that barriers to employment are reduced.

In addition to the annual event, Riverside County Workforce Development maintains a consistent commitment to the community through monthly job fairs held from 10 a.m. to noon on the last Thursday of each month at the Workforce Development Center in Indio. These ongoing events serve as a vital county resource, helping connect job seekers with local employers and strengthening workforce development across the region.
