Statewide EBT outage affects Riverside County

Temporary outage planned for (EBT) Electronic Benefits Transfer

Riverside- California cardholders who receive CalFresh and CalWORKs benefits on EBT cards should be aware of a temporary service outage at the end of June.  The service outage will occur statewide.

The California Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) system will be out of service from Saturday, June 23, 2018, beginning at 11 P.M. until Sunday, June 24, 2018 at 11:00 P.M., due to an EBT system update.  During this 24-hour period, you will not be able to use any EBT benefits (food or cash).  After 11:00 P.M. on June 24, 2018, you will be able to use your EBT card again.

In Riverside County, the Department of Public Social Services (DPSS) Self Sufficiency Division oversees the program.   DPSS Assistant Director, Sayori Baldwin urged customers to plan ahead for shopping needs and for getting cash. “We recognize how important these benefits are to our customers and want to ensure that we get the word out so that we can minimize the impact to them,” said Baldwin.

The EBT customer services telephone number listed on the back of each EBT card (1-877-328-9677) will not be available during that 24-hour period. In addition, you will not be able to use the EBT client website from 10:00 P.M. Friday, June 22, 2018 until 11:00 P.M. Sunday, June 24, 2018.

After this outage you will be able to use your EBT card, contact Customer Service and access EBT the client website at: www.ebt.ca.gov.
