RIVERSIDE COUNTY SOCIAL SERVICES RECOGNIZES ADOPTION MONTH
November is National Adoption Month
Riverside County- Each year, November is recognized as National Adoption Awareness Month. While all adoption-related issues are important, the particular focus of this month is the adoption of children currently in foster care.
Every year, more than 100,000 children and youth in the foster care system seek loving, stable, permanent families. Having family connections are critical for youth to have legal and emotional support as they transition into adulthood and strive for achievement, growth, and well-being.
In Riverside County, the DPSS website contains an entire section dedicated to providing adoption and permanency- related resources and tips for families, including families considering adoption and families that have adopted.
The website also supports child welfare professionals in preparing families for adoption.
