Faith in Motion joins Riverside County to recruit more foster families on June 11
Free community event to help residents learn more about foster care and adoption.
Ever consider opening your heart and home to a youth in need? Now is your chance to take the next step. Anyone interested in fostering or adoption in Riverside County can learn more about where to start and how local faith-based communities are ready to support families throughout each step in their journeys.
Who: Representatives from the Riverside County Department of Public Social Services (DPSS), Faith in Motion, as well as current foster families, former foster youth, and faith-based community partners.
What: Faith in Motion, a collaborative partnership between DPSS and communities of faith, has organized a special event for those interested in fostering and adoption in Riverside County. There will be a panel discussion and breakout sessions available in English and Spanish. Information will also be provided how to volunteer to help children and families in need.
Where: Centerpoint Church, 24470 Washington Avenue, Murrieta, CA. 92562
When: Saturday, June 11 from 10 a.m.- 12 p.m. The event is free, and lunch will be served. The public can register here.
Why: On any given day, there are about 4,000 children in Riverside County who are placed in out-of-home care due to abuse or neglect. More foster families are needed to provide safe havens. The need is especially great for children of color, sibling sets, and teens.

Faith in Motion is a partnership between DPSS and over 100 faith-based communities in Riverside County that guides parents from the point of gathering information, to the selection of a foster family agency and state certification, to adoption and beyond.
