Department of Public Social Services names new executive to Self Sufficiency Division

County of Riverside Names Sayori Baldwin Assistant Director DPSS

 

Veteran DPSS staff member to head Self Sufficiency Division

RIVERSIDE, Calif., – The Department of Public Social Services has announced that Sayori Baldwin has been named Assistant Director of Self Sufficiency, to further develop the growing DPSS division.  Sayori Baldwin comes with a wealth of experience within the organization, having spent the last 27 years at DPSS in a wide variety of roles.  Baldwin has served as Interim Assistant Director since January of 2016.

“Sayori Baldwin is very dedicated to helping our customers and to helping develop and support staff,” DPSS Director Susan von Zabern said.

Baldwin began her Social Services career nearly three decades ago as an Eligibility Technician in the Self Sufficiency Division.  During her tenure with the Department, Baldwin has held several different positions of increasing responsibility.  She moved from Self-Sufficiency to Staff Development to assist in training staff across all divisions.  Baldwin’s passion for developing staff led her to become the manager of Staff Development 2002.  Baldwin went on to become the Human Resources Manager and in 2006 promoted to Deputy Director where she was responsible for HR, Staff Development, Policy, Research and Evaluation, Program Technology and Media Relations.   In 2015 Baldwin returned to the Self-Sufficiency Division as Deputy Director overseeing the Administrative Operations for the division and the western regional offices.

“I am most passionate about assisting others who come from all paths of life, succeed,” Baldwin said.

In addition to her extensive experience in the Department, Baldwin has a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from California State University San Bernardino.(which school/s)  She is a certified to train various leadership topics such as Project Management, Change Management and Strategic Thinking .    Sayori enjoys traveling, and spending time with her family.   On the weekends, Sayori works with her church ministry to feed the homeless and individuals and families in need.
